The Good and the Beautiful

Updated: Mar 1, 2021

When I first decided to homeschool my daughter, I began doing extensive research to find the best homeschool curriculum. I first stumbled upon The Good and the Beautiful website when I saw a link for a free Language Arts curriculum. Yes - FREE! They offer lots of free items, including Language Arts curriculums for various grades and a full Marine Biology Course geared to students in Grades K-8. The fact that it is free DOES NOT mean it isn't thorough. As a former teacher and education enthusiast, I find the curriculum to be both thorough and enjoyable for students and parents alike.

HERE ARE THE TOP 6 REASONS I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE GOOD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

1. VARIOUS PURCHASE OPTIONS

Many of the courses have two options for purchase. You can either buy the PDF and print it yourself, or you can purchase the curriculum in a book. Purchasing the PDF is the cheaper option.

I began my journey by printing some of the free curriculum. While you can do a lot of reading on the computer, I really like to have the sheet in my hand so I can write on it when explaining things to my daughter. I soon found that unless you have a special printing service or HP Instant Ink, it's usually cheaper to just buy the book. Printer ink + paper + binding = $$$

2. LOW PRICE or FREE

The Good and the Beautiful is MUCH CHEAPER than other curriculums. I was amazed at just how affordable it is! Before discovering this company, I almost purchased another curriculum. It was more than TWICE the price of this one. To be honest, I love this one MUCH MORE! The other curriculum was full of worksheets. This curriculum helps students learn through the use of games, movement, writing, reading, art, music, and more. It is especially great for students who are hands on learners and those who learn best through movement and play.

3. CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES

The curriculum incorporates Christian principles without being based on a specific denomination. It incorporates various Bible stories and teaches good character throughout the lessons. I still like to include Bible reading in our schedule. My daughter also has an early reader Bible story book that she can read on her own.

You can check out the Bible reader here.

4. CAPTIVATING CURRICULUM

~Math

~Handwriting

~Language Arts

~Science & Health

~History

5. EXCITING ELECTIVES

~Nature Notebook

~Typing

~Drawing

~Creative Arts & Crafts

~Creative Writing Notebooks

6. LOVELY LIBRARY

They also have a library full of wonderful books they've created for various reading levels. You never have to worry about your child reading something inappropriate. My daughter is not a huge fan of reading, but she really enjoys the books from The Good and the Beautiful Library.

I hope this review helps you decide whether or not The Good and the Beautiful would be a good fit for your family. Even if your child isn't homeschooled, I think the extracurriculars and handwriting books are very helpful! Thanks for reading!
