Exciting Easter Gift Ideas

Updated: Mar 31, 2021

Fact: I am very intentional about what I buy. I don't want a lot of junky things cluttering up the house. For Easter gifts, I prefer consumable or useful items, like food, money, clothing, etc. I am not an extreme minimalist, but I am frugal with my time and money. Below are some of my favorite Easter basket fillers for kids. I have used these as gifts for my children, and they have been very happy.

Bunny Tail Baskets - I got tired of buying the cheap plastic buckets that get broken or dented almost immediately. Last year, I searched far and wide for some great reusable Easter baskets. I chose these baskets from Amazon and was very pleased. My girls absolutely love them! I am going to try a DIY Cricut Project and put their names on them. I'll keep you posted on that. These baskets are sturdy but still soft. They're exactly what I was looking for! You can click the photograph to see more details.

Water WOW Fairy Tale - Both of my girls love these Water WOW books. Just add water to the pen and color. After the water dries, the colors fade away. You can color the pictures over and over. It's like a "paint with water" book that never ends. This is a great activity to take on a car trip.

Water WOW Bible Stories - My girls loved this book as well. It is just like the princess one, but this one is about the Bible. That's perfect for Easter!

Plastic Eggs - What would an Easter basket be without plastic eggs?! You can leave them empty or fill them with little surprises - money, hairclips, candy, gummies, goldfish, etc. Easter egg hunts are a great way to spend time with your child. It's also an activity that you can do indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather and where you live.

Play-Doh - Can kids ever really get too much playdoh? Maybe...if they actually put the lid on it. Haha! My girls like to leave it to dry out, so we're always in need of at least 1 can. You can also get these for less than a dollar a can at Walmart.

Kinetic Sand - As a lover of the beach, I really like kinetic sand. I may even have my own stash in the desk drawer. Shhhh! Even minimalists need to have some fun. My kids really enjoy playing with it, and it isn't sticky or messy like most compounds. It's also relatively cheap.

Bubbles - What is a gift that is compact, cheap, and fun? Bubbles! My girls go crazy over bubbles. You can get multiple bottles for just a dollar. They can have hours of fun blowing bubbles in the yard. If you're at a loss for what to get your child, you really can't go wrong with these.

Candy - I don't like to overdo it, but I always get my girls a little candy for holidays. Their favorite Easter candies are Reese's eggs and a chocolate cross or bunny. We found a 2-pack of chocolate bunnies from Sam's club that we got for their baskets this year.

Gummies - My youngest daughter loves gummies! She is crazy about them, but almost to a fault. So, I try to limit them to special occasions. I got her a box of gummies for her basket as well.

These are just a few options that I wanted to share for filling an Easter basket without going overboard on money or stuff.

Don't forget the best gift of all - Jesus Christ. Make sure to share with your kids why it is such an important day. You can click here to see my post on ways to share the true meaning of Easter with your kids: https://www.sierrassimplehome.com/post/favorite-easter-activities-celebrating-christ

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter celebration!
