As a child, reading was one of my favorite pastimes. I still enjoy reading and would like to find more time for this hobby. While reading is one of the best ways to spend your time (in my humble opinion), books can also add a lot of clutter to your home if you aren't very intentional with how many you keep and where you store them. If you're short on space or just want less items to manage, I'm sharing 5 ways you too can read like a minimalist!
1) Download Books on Audible
I love using Audible to get access to great literature! There are lots of free books, and you can get a discount on many other titles. You can even get a FREE 30-day trial of Audible by clicking on the image below. Even if you cancel, you will still have access to the books you purchased using your monthly credits. So, why not take a chance? I really love listening to books as I wind down in the evening. Since I can listen to the book, I don't need the light on and can better relax while enjoying a great book.
2) Read/Listen on Blinkist
Blinkist is an app you can use to access "blinks", which are the main points of a book. In only a few minutes, you can listen to, or read, the main ideas from a book. There are thousands of non-fiction books available on the app. Click here for a free trial of Blinkist.
3) Read on the Kindle App
If you shop on Amazon.com, you may know that you can often get free Kindle credits for delaying the arrival of your packages. This is a great way to earn free books without the clutter. If you are an Amazon Prime member, many books are free to read on the app. Click the image below for a free trial of Kindle Unlimited.
4) Utilize your Local Library
Let's not forget the amazing opportunity we have to get free access to thousands of books using our local library. There are countless books to choose from, and many libraries will consider requests if you want to read something they don't already have available. If you don't want to keep up with the physical books, you can even check out digital copies of books to read online.
5) Borrow from a Friend or Family Member
Check with like-minded family members and friends to discuss reading habits. Perhaps one of them would like to share books with you when they are finished with them and vice versa. Borrowing items is a great way to save money and space.
Leave me a comment, and let me know if you enjoy reading. I'd also love to know which of these options is your favorite way to read like a minimalist. Thanks for reading!
